The Gold Standard is a monetary system in which gold is the standard currency. Under the gold standard, the value of each unit of currency is equivalent to a certain weight of gold. When different countries use the gold standard, the exchange rate between countries is determined by the gold parity ratio of their respective currencies. The gold standard prevailed from the mid-19th century. Historically, there were three forms of the gold standard: gold coin standard, gold bullion standard, and gold exchange standard. The gold coin standard was the most typical form.

The weight of gold or goldware is generally expressed in troy ounces. 1 troy ounce is approximately equal to 1.097 avoirdupois ounces, and 1 troy ounce is approximately equal to 31.1035 grams. Currently, China uses 'grams' as the unit for gold measurement. Although the metric system is adopted, the domestic gold measurement unit differs from the internationally customary 'troy ounce', and domestic gold investors must first adapt to this difference in measurement units.

Margin trading allows investors to provide only a portion of the funds as margin to conduct large transactions beyond their own capital, improving capital utilization. For example, in international spot gold margin trading, an investor uses $10,000 as margin to control $1,000,000 worth of gold trading power. Under normal circumstances, margin can be considered a deposit - you only need to pay a certain deposit to have the right to trade the commodity. The proportion of the margin is the leverage ratio.

Refers to when an investor, optimistic about a product, stock, futures, currency, etc. in the financial market, believes that its short-term or medium-to-long-term market will rise, and therefore purchases a certain stock, futures, or currency.

Refers to a trading method where an investor takes a bearish view on the future price trend, buying back to close the position after the price drops to profit from the price difference.

Refers to timely closing a position when a loss reaches a predetermined amount to avoid greater losses. Its purpose is to limit losses to a smaller range when investment mistakes occur.

Refers to setting a closing price for a trading order in advance. When the market price reaches the preset price, the system will close the position at this price to avoid losing profits already gained from price pullbacks.

Locking a position generally refers to a trader opening equal but opposite positions so that regardless of which direction the price moves, the position's profit or loss will not increase or decrease. However, if held overnight, both long and short positions need to pay corresponding overnight interest.

Refers to interest generated when a position holder's order is not closed on the same day and continues to the next day or a further delivery date.

The spread refers to the difference between the buying price and the selling price during trading. The spread may change due to drastic market fluctuations.

In the London gold market, prices are quoted in US dollars and measured in ounces. The contract unit for London gold is 100 ounces per lot.

Non-farm data refers to two values: non-farm employment figures and the unemployment rate. As the name suggests, these are indicators reflecting the employment situation of the US non-agricultural population. These data are released on the first Friday of each month at 21:30 Beijing time (winter time: November-March) and 20:30 (summer time: April-October), sourced from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics.
